Yo!

I have a problem that many here do, in that I have a terrible line due to noise probably caused by distance to to the exchange, which was more than 4KM for me last I worked it out. Now the annoying thing is that I live in Waterkloof which as you may know is one of the areas that currently has MSAN coverage and there's a MSAN box less than 500 meters from my house! Is there ANY way I can arrange to be put onto this nearby MSAN rather than the ancient thing 'I'm connected to 4KM away?

Thanks!

Well my account was inactive for a while... I suspect that reset my post counter ;p

The answer to your question is no. Telephone networks work geographically and almost never overlap .
An MASN/ISAM will feed a few blocks only.
The telephone network feeds from the exchange to the street box then to the distribution point where the underground cable appears above ground and is fed via aerial cable then drop wire to the houses.
The MSAN/ISAM is erected at the street box thus shortening the run from the exchange.(MSAN/ISAM can feed a few street boxes.)
