In short.

I've got two sim cards.

1 Prepaid
1 Contract (Topup135s)

Is it possible to change contract over to prepaid sim??

The dude at Vodacom gave so many quick and unclear reasons why this connot be done.

"So forum...what do you think of the comic question of the day?"

Hi KryptOn1te,

I have the same , I use both of them if the contract is ful i use prepaid , use both

I don't see why not, i know you can change your contract number during the contract period. Not too sure if it can be changed to a pre paid number and vice versa.
But i am sure they wouldn't do it for free.

No, you're not allowed to switch numbers. The contract is linked to your number, you can fight till you're blue in the face, it's not allowed.

But you're welcome to try :p

I had a contract number changed last year November. It was 5 months into my contract period.
Although it was for maybe a more vaild reason i did still get it done.

What would qualify as a 'valid' reason? I am desperate to get this done..

Thanks for your help on this topic guys :)

Yes you can change your number provided the number is not in use. Or you can change to a random number, but cannot swap numbers.

Im very confused. People say that they've had it done with 'valid reasons' and others say it's not possible at all? When taking out my contract, I wasnt given the option to take my number with me. I only know now that I should have been given the option and I do want it.

In all honesty you should have been given the option but, you should also have asked. My understanding with your question is as follows:

You have a prepaid sim card - the one that you wanted to have on contract when you applied for your current contract.
You have a contract sim card - a brand new number and also not very old.

You can change your number on a contract sim card (unless Topup contracts) but, the problem is that you can't choose your prepaid cellnumber as your new number. This prepaid number of yours is still active on the network and only gets deleted about 6 months after all the airtime is over.

So, no.
