Changing a contract cell number

I am asking the following on the forum as I will get a "REAL" answer here because phoning MTN customer service is so frustrating and useless. I am on a MTN Anytime350 contract. Will it be possible to change my number to another (MTN) number and let my number become a prepaid number? The contract will still carry on, but now only with another number. (The contract still has 16 months remaining) Has anyone done this before?

I thought of that as well to retain my cell no. Its a bitch getting people your new number, some will still always call old number.
MTN told me not possible then...
