Hi All
According to MWEB, I can't move my ADSL line to them without incurring 10 working days of downtime while the line is moved. Sounds like madness to me. Has anyone changed ISP's recently. I suspect I need to first take out the data account with the new ISP and pay Telkom for a month of line management, and move the line at the end of next month. My chat with MWEB is below.
Thanks

Hello. I am currently with Web Africa on a 4MB/S Uncapped Account. The Line is currently managed by Web Africa. I have given them notice of cancellation which takes effect at the end of this month.
I would like to consider moving to MWEB.
How do I coordinate this to minimise downtime

Thank you.

Since I believe I first need to get Web Africa to release the line to Telkom?
Samir 10:01:29 AM
What did you cancel with Webafrica your data only?
Richard 10:01:38 AM
Both line and data
Samir 10:01:50 AM
Yes they will send the adsl line back to telkom.
The data from MWEB wilol cost you R239.
Will.
The adsl line and data will cost you R449.

I know the pricing. I just want to know how to get the line to MWEB?
If I try sign up with MWEB now, it will fail because the line is not with Telkom (I went through this before)
Samir 10:03:59 AM
Once the line is with telkom then we can migrate the line over to MWEB.
It will take up to 10working days to move the adsl line over.

So the only way I can move is to wait until Web Africa release my line to Telkom, then sign up with MWEB and then have no internet access for 10 days while my line is moved?
