Hi, guys. Would appreciate some advice. First time replacing a ceiling light fixture/fitting and I'm a bit confused about something. So bought a new fixture and got it home and opened it up, and I notice that the two contacts/terminals on the base of the fixture aren't marked or color coded or anything. I hadn't really even thought about it, but just kind of expected that they would be marked positive/negative in some way. They're just two identical bronze contacts. Is this an issue, or does it not matter which wire from the ceiling goes into which contact on the fixture?

It does not matter. Think about a bayonet light bulb, it can go in one of two ways.

Just remember to turn off the main switch in the DB before you start. The neutral can still knock you off the ladder
