Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forums here and I'd like to know if anyone can give me an answer to this question please. I'm on a contract with CellC, it's the Active Chat 100 contract. It's due to expire at the begining of October and I'd like to change over to Vodacom as they offer a better range of phones when I renew the contract. My question is; can you change networks during a contract, ie: CellC to Vodacom, or do you have to wait until the contract expires? Any advice would be most welcome! :)

You need to wait for the contract to expire otherwise cell c wont realease it. When you ready to port go to a vodacom shop and fill in the info they need. Maybe phone ahead and check what info/documents you need to bring so that you only go in once.
I think you first need to apply for the port (at vodacom) and then come back once the port is approved (about 1 day). Then you go back and fill in all the new contract forms.
Oh, and expect a whole lot of excuses like 'the system is down' and 'we can only do it tomorow'. And try go on like a Monday cause you can bet if its close to the weekend nothing will happen till the next week...
*phew*

P.s - something else to think about is when you get your last bill from cell c - you might be double billed in that first month

Thank you

Thanks for the info.
I think I'm going to be in for a frustrating time changing networks. I put it off at the last contract renewal with CellC but I'm so fed up with them that it will be worth the effort in changing!
