Changing number plates

Hello. I recently moved back to GP. My cars had GP number plates, which we changed to KZN while we stayed there. Now we're back permanently (hopefully). Can I change them back to the old GP nubmers or do I have to register new number plates at the traffic department?

The previous GP reg was cancelled when you changed the reg to KZN.

You need to change the reg to GP, which means new reg cert, new disc, and, if your old GP number is not available, new plates.
