Changing plugs

Engine on my 316i developed a bad miss this week, plugs are about a year old now.
When is the best time to remove plugs from an engine? When the engine is hot / warm / cold?

HOT...>EXTREMELY HOT.
pay school fees by burning da shiz out of urself.

If you dont know what you are doing try learning first.go look at how it's done.one small mistake will cost you an enjine
not to say its a sparkplug.could be missed spark, dead injector.how is it fired.DIZZY cap maybe corroded?if it stil uses a dizzy.

If you dont know what to look for STAY AWAY or pay the school fees!

I find plugs are easier to remove when the engine is hot. The aluminium from the head casing expands more than the metal from the plugs so they come out real easy. Putting them in when still hot allows you to just finger torque them into place compare to when it cold. Yeah you can burn yourself a bit.

It's not exactly difficult to remove when they're cold...

Get a socket that fits spark plugs, put on a ratchet and it comes off easily. Easy to torque them right as well.

Just do it when it's cold.

Thanks for replies.
I took them out cold without any problems. They all look good - clean dry and slightly tan in colour, but those screw on tops where loose. Why do they make plugs with screw on tops?

So the screw can vibrate and not the cable. If you vibrate a cable for too long it might fail/break.

Do you at least service your car every 10000km? (oil, plugs, filters)
