Changing pool over to salt chlorination?

Do not forget about the biggest bonus of a salt pool. You can open your eyes under water, not like the dam hth pools.

Biggest cost is the unit itself and the installation. You will never look back, ever again.

I put in a single cup of HTH once a month, just for a bit of shock treatment.
Other than that, just keep the filter clean and the PH correct.

P.S. Make sure there is NO iron in the water. That will eat up the element in no time.

I think its all about finding that balance. I use Pool Magic Evolution.
Since winter I have barely touched the pool and its still clear.
 
Has anybody heard, seen or even used on of these solar powered salt chlorinators that float in your pool?

That looks pretty interesting. What did they quote you if I may ask? As soon as my transfer goes through I am planning to switch to salt, but that does come at a price sadly.

Does anyone know the state of your pool after a heavy rain storm with a salt chrolinator?
 
They quoted me just under 5k. I think 4800 to be exact.

I couldn't find any reviews of the product but the seller told me he sold it to a few people already and it works.

I am still contemplating it. For 2k more you can snatch one of the normal chlorinators.
 
hi Guys, please help to confirm something, Ive just bought a house with a pool and im started using blu52.

Do i put it in the hole next to the pool where the hose from the cleaner goes in? (weir) of into the actual basket that has the cover and the hose goes into to get suction?

You just stick it in the weir basket but I would stay away from blu52, heard some horror stories. I stopped using it after a few months.

Really??!! what stories? Health concerns? my daughter is 2 and uses the pool.
 
Sorry for the slight hi jack buy I also need some help regarding my pool.

I have yet to change over to the salt chlorinator as I need to fix it first so for now I add chlorine every week.

If the chlorine level is normal thr water is murky but as the chlorine level drops to almost zero the water becomes brighter.

The pH level is normal but the alkilinity level is low.

Would this be the cause of the murky water?

I am also in the market for a solar salt chlorinator - seems too good to be true but researching the Sunchlor product @ R3000. Has anyone used it? www.subclor.co.za. The link above has error so I could not see the product you referring to
