I am currently using Supersonic fibre but want to clean up my installation and take advantage of using a single router with an SFP+ port on it. Does anyone here have any experience with these modules and which ones would be recommended. From my research it seems the ISP's tend to use the ONT's serial number for authentication / verification - so one either needs to find a module that allows the serial to be changed; or be flashed with a custom firmware to allow this or get the ISP onboard to configure accordingly; this is proving to be quite a challenge as most of the call center level agents have no idea what I am talking about.

The ONT is part of the ISP equipment, they will not allow you to remove it. You also seem flabbergasted that the call center agents are unable to assist you with this.

Also, good luck with any troubleshooting in event of issues, if you remove it

Best is to have the ONT moved to another location, and run copper to your router.

What details do you have on the existing ONT ?

Basically it would be a shot in the dark, but if you can figure out what type of connector they use you can try make something happen with the correct type of LC cable and SFP (probably)

I did something similar with my Cybersmart install
