I would like to move my banking from Standard Bank to FNB so I hope someone won't mind answering a couple of questions.

I have a cheque account with debit and credit card currently and that's all that I need for now.

I don't care for the colour of my cards at all so what plan would I apply for?

Is there a package that includes a credit card and eBucks "account" or eBucks card or whatever?

Also take into account I will move my bond from Standard Bank to FNB in the near future.

I swipe may be 5 times a month and have 5 debit orders each month.

I would also like to have a savings account with my FNB a account.

The cheque account comes with a savings account, make sure whatever package you select your cheque and credit card is the same colour, you will then qualify for ebucks.
Best way to determine which card to choose would be to use the ebucks calculator

Get online banking and install the app asap. The app really does let you do everything. And FNB is not a proponent for cash withdrawals... I swipe about 95% of my expenses, big and small and earn about R1k a month in ebucks because of it. The shinier your card, the more ebucks you get.

Go for Gold. The fees are lowest on Gold and rules to get and maintain reward level 5 are also much simpler. The other packages gives 1% to 2% more on swipes. If you are a VERY big spender and can keep on level 5 then the other options is for you.

The default savings pocket has very low interest rates but the others like 32-day notice are better. You can also use the TFSA (tax freee savings account). And having these also increase you points...

Go for the gold account. Fees are reasonable although no bundled pricing option. If you like to buy airtime/bundles be aware of the fee they charge for each transaction.

If you want to go big on the ebucks rewards go for premier.

It depends how much you earn, and how much you spend. Go to the Ebucks site and play around on the calculator for the Gold and up banking levels, and see which one gets you level 5 rewards.

I earn enough to be on premier but don't see the point in paying the monthly fees if I don't use all of the benefits of premier.

But I would like to make use of the eBucks thing so I just need to find some middle ground.

Thanks for all the replies and advice, appreciate it.

You won't be dissapointed. I vowed never to bank with Standard Bank again.

I chose FNB but didn't have proof of residence. The bank manager came with me to my house and Fica'd me. Great service so far.

Which benefits would you not make use of?

eBucks is an all in concept otherwise it doesn't make sense. You'll find the bundled Premier option at R199 is normally not much more expensive than the Gold Cheque + Debit card.

Use the ebucks calculator check with what card you can get the highest points level. You maybe going to need to start gold then move your way up if can get same level on the next card

Ive been on Gold for a few years. Dont see much point in going to a more expensive account at the moment. I got about R550 ebuck last month. We use my CC to buy everything, including petrol for my wifes car to maximise ebucks earned. Also do 90% of shopping at Checkers. The trick is to think of your Credit card as a debit card. Only spend what you can pay off at end of month. I pay all my CC debt end of each month.

Oh, check out the Ebuck thread. Tip no 1 : Do 100% of your transactional spend on your CC.
