Much of the nebulous conspiracy against JZ seems to be attributed to Thabo Mbeki.

Well Mbeki's gone.

The NPA can charge JZ again without fear (or suspicion) of executive interferance.

NOW IS THE TIME!

Yeah but they need to gather new evidence and setup up new charges, and that will take months if not years :(

It's too late. Patricia de Lille was right in her interview on Sat. It should have been done years ago...

Why - has Zuma been up to more crap? They are quite capable of using the existing charges but that needs to wait for the appeal process.

Nope but some of the edvidence will be disallowed and Zuma might even push for some other things that will make this case take another 4 years.

Judge Nicholson ruled that their should have been consultation between the the NPA and JZ's legal team before the charges were brought a second time.

They must consult, they must consult to their hearts delight, and then charge him.

This is exactly why the government changed hands this weekend.

The one who controls government and run the country, also controls the NPA, I would imagine.

I wish that that would come to pass :)

BUT Zuma's legel team are masters at the "Law Game" :(

He might even be done serving his first term as Prez by the time we get past all the appeals ect ect :(

Why? The constitutional court must still decide on this.

Some of the evidence that the scorpions gathered will almost surely be disallowed.

I really want Zuma to be charged NOW, but that just is not going to happen atm :(

Do you guys honestly believe that there is any politician who's clean from any corruption?
Even successful business people pay/get paid for any businessdeal.
I bet all the Presidents in this world have done some sort of illegal activities in some form.

I don't condone corruption at all, but the reality is that you won't find a clean politician.
THe problem with Zuma's situation is that it got known by the public that he was involved in corruption.
Everyone in politics in not hones (ANC, DA, UDM, IFP). We just don't know about it.

So? He got cought thus he must suffer the consequences.

If you are not clever enough to avoid getting cought then don't do it ;)

Your point?

Of course they are all corrupt. Same circus, different clowns.

The point is, though, that if there is enough evidence, the politician in question should be charged. Rule of law.

True. The other problem with Zuma's situation is the perception of double standards by the state. His alleged corruption does not even measure to that of other ANC MP's/their families whom the state has yet to prosecute.

If they have evidence, they should charge Zuma.

No, I honestly believe in punishing politicians to the full extent of the law, if they are caught being corrupt or abusing their power at all, thus making it difficult to be corrupt on my watch. You steal from millions of people, and abuse trust, you should pay, if you don't like it, get out of politics, because it shouldn't be about money, it should be about helping people.

You are condoning corruption, if you accept it as part of the package, because its not supposed to be. None of my friends steal from their work places, so why should these sobs? They special?
Apparently, my friends make better politicians by default, you only need to look as far as motivation and intent. Don't choose a snake, and expect him not to bite you.

They have evidence. They have charged Zuma. Twice. But we don't have any 'cut the crap' judges who stop the technical bull and get down to deciding innocence or guilt.

None of the court cases to date have been about innocence - they have all been about whether he should be there, or whether the original documents proving his attending meetings with Thint are admissable. Zuma is trying to avoid getting to his trial because he knows he is pretty well screwed then.
