But won't it overcharge and damage the battery in the long run?
I try go through proper charge cycles. I often just play a movie on silent and leave it in the room to finish off the remaining battery life for the day and then do a full charge when I go to bed. My phone is still relatively new but I have had no issues with the battery life. I am actually quite impressed with it.
Discharging is NOT a good idea with these modern batteries.
Rather top it off when you have a chance than letting it drain and starting over.
Like was said in the posts above do it once a month if you absolutely feel you need to but I'm of the opinion not doing it at all is probably better.
My iPhone 4S gets charged in the car every morning on the way in to work and on the way out and it's not had a single problem.
I read that. I admit, I am a little obsessive when it comes to depleting the battery regularly. I think I should research it more...Discharging is NOT a good idea with these modern batteries.

Apple recommends the battery be fully discharged once a month?
Greetings all, was just curious as to how I should charge my iPhone 5.. Not literally plug it in no, but should I always complete charging til 100%? This is because I use my iPhone a lot and I have to charge it daily.
Download a app called Battery Doctor it's free and will help with when and how for charging your iPhone 5.
Charging overnight is not the best option as I have noticed if you leave I in the charger for more than 6hrs the battery seems to drain faster...
