Does anybody know the charging time for the Samsung Fast Charging Battery Pack EB-PN920?

The initial charge took 2hrs 30min, does that sound right? What is irritating is the two-pin plug needs an adapter - could that slow down the charge?

tks

"Fast charge" normally applies to a certain percentage of the battery. i.e. 40% in 10 mins, 80% in 30 mins, 100% in 180mins (example not actual specs). Normally the manufacture will publish these details somewhere.

The type of charger also affects the charge rate. You are plugging it into 240AC and it's coming out at around 5v DC. The Ac going into the charger won't be affected by an adapter unless the connection is loose. The charger will have an amp rating that will dictate the charging speed. The higher the amps the faster it will charge.

Thank you for the explanation Dairyfarmer.

Samsung didn't mention times. I didn't expect it to take so long and wondered if it was faulty.

The charger that was supplied with the battery bank says 5v/9v adaptive fast charger, so what you've said makes me happy it will charge faster than normal. Just have to make sure the connection isn't loose.

The ones supplied with old phones all say 5v.

I found this explanation. Much better than mine.
Some manufacturers have a nasty habit of overstating the effect of quick chargers. While Qualcomm states that its Quick Charge tech can fill a battery to 60% in 30 minutes, it can take an hour or more to finish the other 40%. The reason, again, has to do with the regulator. Once a battery starts filling up, the regulator needs to find new cells to place power and avoid overcharging the cells. Think of it like a water balloon. You can turn a hose on nearly full blast at the start, but if you don't slow down as it fills up, the balloon will burst.

5v is the standard or old charge, 9v is the newer standard Quick Charge.

Just a quick question I have. My battery pack wasn't supplied with a wall charger just a usb cable to plug into a laptop or computer. Would it damage the battery pack if I was to plug the usb cable instead to a 5v/2a samsung phone wall charger and charge it that way?
