Chavez must have support from several quarters. Even coming to South Africa recently. South Africa, Venezuela sign major energy deal.

Interesting events in Venezuela. Chavez managing to secure his country's assets without any visible steps taken from the US. Perhaps the US was too caught up catching their own tails in Afghanistan and Iraq to notice this South American country doing it's own thing?

And yesterday 2 Russian Bombers landed in Venezuela supposedly doing training exercises.
Events post 9/11 are coming back to haunt the US Government.

People can think what they like about Chavez, but I bet he knows more about world events than he makes out. Chavez claims there was a US plot on his life? Perhaps he is paranoid and so would I be if I was in his shoes sitting on one of the biggest chunks of he world's oil.

The world is wising up to the US's hollywood style politics. CHavez is just one of the more vocal ones.
