You can get most of the Tenda routers from Russ-al PCs slightly cheaper than the non dealer prices from Scoop. I bought two D151s a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the service. You can try Rebeltech and Uniterm for TP-Link routers.

There are many discounted Telkom routers (Billion, D-Link, Aztech etc.) both new as well as secondhand on Gumtree for R100~R200.

Does MyBB have a COD account at Scoop?

ASUS DSL-N14U is now THE bestselling networking product on Takealot.

This is the only router in this price range with traffic monitoring and other advanced features. It also supports most of the Huawei-made 3G/ LTE dongles on the market, if 3G failover is one of your selection criteria.

Please let me know if we could be of any assistance

i can vouch for the Asus DSL-N14u, bought from Takelot last week (R620 incl free delivery)

Great piece of kit, breeze to setup and lots of extra features for heavy users (QOS, cloud sharing, vpn, guest wifi, etc etc) Here's the kicker. I Had a telkom Dlink modem and max sync i ever got was about 4 to 4.5meg, since using the Asus, my sync is between 5 and 5.5meg (i'm on an up to 10meg adsl)

yip bought this same model last week from takealot - quick and easy set up and range seems decent enough
DNS was hidden away but found after a google search.

Seems a lot of routers got fried in the storms last week

how does this stack up against the following:
Asus Dual-Band Wireless-N600 Gigabit ADSL Modem Router
TP-Link AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router

Couple of questions you need to ask yourself when selecting a modem router: What is your line speed and how many devices would you like to connect? What features do you need? How big is your house/ office?

DSL-N14U is ideal for 1 - 15 devices, and up to 4mb ADSL line. While the wifi range is considerably good, you'll find yourself needing an additional range extender for houses that are 120 sqr metre or larger.

If you live in a big house and have more devices to connect and/ or a faster ADSL, and if you need to stream high-res video content wirelessly, you'll probably want to go for a more powerful duo-band router: DSL-N55U or DSL-AC68U.

House is resonable size im gauging is above 120 sqm.as for devices I'd say about 6-8 but not all running at same time.
I'm also possibly looking to go above 4mbs having moved over from the UK 4mbs is something I was used to while back.
Wont be gaming but movies, surfing, etc
I've looked at both the N55 and AC68 with the latter being quite pricey and there a few grand difference between the two units.
Is the premium justified...and if I was hoping to save rands would I opt for the 55,66 over the 68??
