Cheap Android tablet for kids car entertainment.

I'm looking for a cheap (<R2000) Android tablet to mount on a headrest of a car so my daughter can watch movies on a long trip. All it will be used for is watching movies so I don't car about things like 3G, camera etc. My only requirements would be a decent 7" or bigger screen, above average sound and 16GB storage. My daughter has my wife's old Galaxy S plus but mostly uses it to play games.
Keeps her busy in the car though.

Yes the reviews are pretty harsh on it, all of them in fact requires that a budget tablet should magically have HD screen and a higher res to boot and still keep the same price bracket. Completely annoyed me and ignored the reviews completely, as their gripe was that you can't use it too well in direct sunlight blah blah and what not, frankly they don't know what they are talking about they were expecting $300 tablet features on a $100 tablet, seriously ?

A1000 is pretty good for a bugdet tabby sound is pretty good to boot, and the battery last a decent amount of time managed a good 6 hours of movie watching on MX player with the settings tweaked.

In the end your choice I am pretty happy with the lenovo A1000

@wizardofid - Thats what I was thinking when reading the reviews. High expectations for basement price. For R999 and my requirements I think its perfect.

@kooldude - That looks like a nice deal. Not sure if its worth the extra over the A1000 for my needs.

Why don't you just buy a headrest with a built in LCD? You say all you need it to do is play movies. Well, just add them to a flashdrive, pop it into the unit, press play and you're good to go

Any of the low cost options will have their problems(see limitations of budget hardware). The A1000 is quite mint for the price
