Cheap Apple PC - what to recommend

With decent protection on Windows, malware isn't an issue. The "Macs don't get viruses" is getting old now.

We run solely on Macs, and if you can use a PC, you can use a Mac :)

The user experience is way better on a Mac IMO.

OS X is not built on Linux, and even if it were that would have no bearing on which shell they opted to use as the default.

So please tell me what apple I should recommend - it needs to be new, bought from a store with warranty so they can take it back there and most importantly it needs to be cheap.

What would they need : do they need gaming, design, just a computer to do typing ?

Are the computers different to the phones?

Other posts say it's bought at A, then it must go to B - through C then they only X will look. Outside of D region then only E region will look at it. Seems you need to know their own channel systems before making a choice.

On the iPhone at least, support seems to lag behind real phones

Nobody said there isn't any.

Fact is there is significantly less and it's not remotely the same level of a crippling system problem due to the nature of the OS.

Every signee incident has always been directly related to pirated software being procured and not people clicking **** on the Internet.

I have absolutely no idea what you are saying.

If you have a problem you go to Apple.com and generally find whatever you need there.

If you have a real problem then you go back to shop you bought it from and they sort it out for you.

You referring to the CORE state of things in SA or what?

It's generally not a real issue. Apple warranties are lacking in respect to other brands like Dell with on site warranties though.

I'm sure there was a guy here that bought a brand new iPhone through MTN, it broke a few months later and iStore refused to help at all? And Vodacom and FNB have different channels - that if it breaks and you need support, you need to have another process and go through someone else?

The reasoning was because Apple itself wasn't in the country - so I'm saying if the PCs have the same 'support', I'd be a tad worried. If not, then great!
 
As far as I know Core doesn't supply the iPhone but instead the SP's do directly.

Thus the difference.

But outside of having a physical problem having a "learning" issue you need look no further than Apple's own website in most cases.

Make no mistake you won't get frustrated with the malware after switch to mac but you will be doing research on how to use the mac :)

It's still closer to Linux than Windows and BSD is equally different to Windows and more like Linux.

The two are 95% similar to each other and entirely different to Windows so really who gives a ****.

Yeah it's interesting for sure and I'm not saying don't acknowledge it but some people just go crazy on your ass for saying Linux instead of *nix or more specifically BSD.

This often while the people who said Linux know full well OSX is based on BSD but used a blanket term to describe a non-windows Linux-like system.

I'm sure the're are plenty knowitalls out there - and that goes for any topic. For myself, I thought it was Linux based until I checked it out on Wikipedia. I thought I'd share that bit of info for anyone else who's interested. If nothing else, it means you don't have to have anyone going crazy on your ass anymore :p

People get anal about a lot of things, the trick is to not let their issues become yours ;)
