Okay so verry tempted to by a 32" logik LCD full 1080p tv from makro for around 5 grand...but not familiar with the brand..anyone tried it, or have some advice regarding the tv? Thinking that maybe this could be a nice inbetween solution untill I can afford a proper bravia..

You could get a Sony or Samsing 32" for about R6k.

It won't be full-hd, but at that size HD-ready is more than sufficient.

yeah, do what gifs said - there's not much of a price difference on 32" man....

when you're looking at 42/46 inch though, The Full HD Samsungs/sony's cost a fair bit more though......lol

Get the one with the best warrantee. Even some budget brands give 3-5 yrs over the 1 yr of 'premium' brands.

warrantee over quality? nevar!!!!

Totally agree :) I've had my TV for more than 2 years and it still rocks. Come to think of it, I've never ever taken anything back for warranty/guarantee.

If you want to see how quality comes into play when choosing an LCD or plasma, just walk into Audio Vision and ask to see the new Sony with Motionflow. NOTHING will compare, everything else just looks so... so... flat! afterwards :(

I have a 50" Sony Bravia (720p) which I've loved up until about 2 weeks ago, damn that Motionflow!

i once read at 32" it doesn't matter really if its hd-ready or full hd, but the ppl i know that has sinotec etc ones, are very happy with them...

..or happy with them until they get the chance to compare 'em side by side with a name brand (in most instances) but again opinions differ and what is good quality for me, might be crap for someone else

The crux of all the matter!

HD Guru:

If 46″ TV’s are better in 720p then why is every company making them in 1080p? Did I mis-read your comment about 1080p for 46″. I noticed you have not commented on the new Sony 46″ Bravia XBR3 LCD. Any experience with this TV?

Thanks,
Gary

My point, a 1080p display requires better, powerful signal processing, to maintain good image quality of non-HD source material. If a vendor uses a 1080p panel but does not incorperate the best signal processing, the standard def stuff will probably look inferior than the same material displayed on a 720p set. Bottom line, if you are going to watch SD material on a 1080p set, it needs to have a good processor. Some of the major vendors have overall consistantly better signal processing across the board, others only have it in top-of-the-line models, , while some have poor processing in all models. Check out product reviews and my tests of deinterlacing and 3:2, if the processor doesn’t do that well it may not do a very good job with standard def signals.
