Cheap LCD tvs?

Your posts prove you show an extreme lack of reading/comprehension/understanding. That's not my position at all, as I have been beating into you like a dead horse over the past few months, which you refuse to digest because it proves your ideas wrong. I can't say I'm bothered that you understand my position incorrectly as it means I don't have to engage with you much. Please leave me alone.

No I think you lack the skills, as I am not the only one whose seen what your position is and has been. As I've said before, how about for once actually not putting your two cents in when the OP is not asking about plasmas?

Interesting how you choose not to attack posts #2, #4, #7, and plenty others mentioning what I've mentioned.

I find it quite humorous that those "who've seen my position" (apparently I only mention plasma and Samsung) tend to not be SD TV/sport lovers. :)

Everything I say is out of care for the OP's tasks. OP mentions tasks that wouldn't be benefited by plasma, I mention LCD. OP mentions tasks that would be benefited by plasma, I mention plasma. You show an extreme lack of reading/comprehension/understanding because you miss this.

Compare this to what you do. 1 out of 10 posts you provide valuable input. Compare that to me, I would say at least 8/9 out of 10 posts of mine provide valuable input. I would say the facts speak for themselves in that 30+ forumites have bought entry level plasma, 15+ have PMed me to thank me, etc.. What sort of numbers do you have in your defense? Oh, a measly 5 forumites who aren't SD TV/sport lovers who also dislike me spreading valuable information in the TV forum. Shame.

Take your personal vendetta elsewhere. Have some respect for OP's and genuine debate, grow up and stop disrupting these threads.

PostmanPot vs Lupus
Dolby will be the ref
Engage!!!!!!

/me gets some popcorn.

I really would not want to bore you that much. My defence would be on copy paste from previous posts of mine specifically addressed to Lupus outlining my position. I would say I have spent at least 2 hours typing out different posts to explain to him. Talk about beating a dead horse.

I have to say that the R2500 32" Hisense I bought at Game yesterday is quite crisp and clear compared to the Logik I replaced it with. The contrast ratio is 3000:1 compared to the Logik's 4000:1. Logik is either BS'ing or Hisense is measuring their contrast ratios differently because the Hisense's contrast is MUCH higher than that Logik's, using the standard mark-1 eye test. There is also no back-light bleeding whatsoever for such a cheap panel.

And no, I am not saying it is better than the 7000-Series 46" Philips I have in the lounge. I am saying that for the price, Hisense seems to be seriously good value for people not looking to fork out a lot of cash. Damn, a 46" LED back-lit Hisense costs less than half of what my Philips cost a year ago!

+1
Hisense even look better put-together, before you even switch them on.
Sometimes Hi-Fi Corp have better deals than Game on these cheaper sets.

Then go to game and ask them to beat the price :D

AFAIK they give you 10% off on the difference.

K well I just took some videos. Problem is that taking a video of the crappy Sinotec makes it look 100 times better than it does to the eye. So yeah, I'm going to have to go back and say one has to judge with the eye. To me, this means that Mike Hoxbig's videos may too have made his LCDs appear better than they are to the eye. I still stand by what I say, that I would take a 72cm CRT over a cheapie 32" LCD for SD TV and sport. The 19" Sinotec is dreadful in comparison to my 52cm Goldstar. It's not something I'm going to lie about.

Next problem, which I forgot about, was filming the CRT. Looks horrid, and there are lines all over the place.

Okay wait. It was just while watching the video on my phone that it appeared better. :D

This video gives a pretty good example. Although I'd still say it's worse to the eye. :D

Now THIS is a bad representation of what the CRT looks like IRL. Again, I will say it's muuuch better than the 19" LCD.

No point really posting this video. :D

Okay, tried taking a video of the CRT from further back. Much better example of how it is to the eye. :)

And the plasma. :D ;)

What bout the quality of the TV's

If you are talking about the panels, they are not bad at all.
I recently had some bad luck again with Samsung 26 inch I bought from Game, turned out it was a bum set.
So went for a Sinotec , game decreased price to R1799 on 26 inch set even though it wasnt on special.
Was going to swop for another samsung but they were sold out, hope other buyers are lucky with their samsung sets.

for some reason the cheaper sets have longer warranties. I got 12months on Samsung and get 5 years on Sinotec.
