cheap uncapped?

Yea, though with the Express options your international connection is via satelite, so your latency is going to be sh!te!

The price for the fibre options aren't bad though!

Is this Express uncapped the same as the other providers? There you get throttled down to a crawl if you exceed your monthly cap (not cut off, though, so technically unlimited, I guess).

It really amazes me how difficult it is to find a nice uncapped option. South Africa is so behind with Broadband. In England its like 15GBP which is R225 in SA for a 10mb uncapped that allow p2p torrents no limit at all! I spoke to my frien there on skype! I really want to go there!

I disagree: I have had an IS Uncapped Express 512k account and it works just fine for P2P (I've done 60GB in a month).

It is heavily throttled (to about 128kbps speeds - but oftentimes much less) from 7am to 5pm (weekdays), but 'off-hours' (and weekends) it maxes out my DSL384 (your mileage may vary on faster lines). You are absolutely correct about the threshold though - it gets pretty annoying (your speed will be halved) but I've found it to be relatively loosely enforced...

It is satellite, so latency is double that of SAIX accounts.

I get between 60 - 90Gigs a month on my 384k Uncapped Express. I'm in no hurry, takes me 5 hours to download a current episode of whatever. However, when its slow its SLOW, but no problems atm. Spending more on the Fiber Solutions is too expensive.

I agree. Consistency of speed is often a problem. But for pure volumes that you can rack up monthly, you cannot beat the value. I've now been tempted by the prospect of downloading a full episode in 30 minutes (i.e. via DSL 4Mbps) - I've just ordered my upgrade. However, I will definitely not be doing 60GB+ now. I'll probably get a SAIX 20GB account or something along those lines.

So, no one else uses Imagine, I take it. I've had great service from them over the last few months. Unfortuantely over the last few days my connections to easynews and newshosting have all but died...

Apart from that, R872.10 for uncapped 384 with low pings isn't bad at all!
