So I Currently have 10mbit business uncapped at home and I'm considering upgrading to 20mbit home uncapped which costs just R100 more.

Any suggestions for a cheap VDSL modem? I already have a great router (Asus AC66U) so a cheap modem that will sit in bridge mode is all I really need.

The best I've seen so far is a Zyxel modem/router for R999 on the Axxess website.

The cheapest one I know of is the Zyxel vmg1312-b10a.

They may be available for even less elsewhere. I personally use this one on an ADSL line and it works just fine, no issues on my side. I have seen a few reports of users having issues, but has been like 1 or 2 here on the forums.

The Zyxel works well as a modem, not good for anything else.

I use a vmg1312 as a modem for my Asus RT-N66U.

Got my Zyxel from Web Antics. Think it was R950 including overnight delivery. Brilliant service had it in under 24 hours from placing the order.

It's a solid product. Easy to setup, has ADSL fallback, and an amber light for VDSL connection versus a green light for ADSL2+.

Highly recommend.

Computer Mania stores are the only retail stores I could find that stock the Zyxel :)

I paid R999 for mine.
