Cheaper SMS's with VEXX?

A new way to communicate is about to change the world of cellphones.

It’s the new VEXX SMS system, which was launched globally two weeks ago and boasts a charge of 10c per SMS on any cellphone with internet access.

And although still in the early stages of release, it has something of a “Shuttleworth” feel to it – VEXX managing director Michael Sillifant is from Durban.

Sillifant said the cutting-edge SMSing and voice SMS application would allow SMS users to make huge savings on hefty SMS costs.

I seriously wonder,with the proliferation of IM-applications like Whatsapp that enable message sending on the cheap,is an SMS-derivative really the way forward,especially when adding extra complexity to sending sms's,when this seems to be targeted to those who find IM less than ideal
