Edit - should read 10 gig...autocorrect ftl

Thinking of moving my parents off 2 meg adsl onto 3g.

The router already has a dongle so it's literally just the data sim.

Should work out cheaper right? (keeping landline for calls anyway)

Afrihost is def the cheapest after all my research. For an extra R99 you get Afrihost Plus added onto your package and your data is doubled. So for R347pm total, you'll get 10GB. I pay R497 for 16GB.

I've had 10GB+10GB from Telkom Mobile for R199pm for the last couple of years. Not sure if that deal is still available though.

I've got the Cell C Giga Nite 20 for R199pm. 5 gigs anytime and 15gigs between 12 - 6am. Might not be the best fit for your parents who I assume will probably make more use of the daytime data. I've recently heard that telkom has introduced a similar plan with 10gigs daytime data and 10gigs after 12am for R199 as well. Pair the sime with a mobile wifi router and you've alway got a hot spot with you. the telkom deal gives you access to their network of hot spots for free and apparently unlimited data usage although I'm not too sure how well that works.

10GB+10GB from Telkom Mobile for R199pm is only available to clients who are still on those packages.
Has been long gone to anyone else.

Is that on prepaid or contract ?

Contract, but I've had it way beyond the original 24 months, so it's effectively on month to month now. Could cancel anytime I want, but can't see that I'd want to anytime soon.

Also can't see them on their website. I didn't go with Telkom though because there was no coverage in my area, so just check that out :)
