Options?
Processor at least...say 800Mhz?
Could be a lower processor - if it could handle what I wanna do with it. (Explanation to follow)
Even if I get one 2nd hand one to fiddle around with.

This idea came to me when I was once again frustrated in the shower with not having any music (at loud enough levels) for me to listen to. I like taking long showers and listening to music. And the phone's speaker alone has not been cutting it for a while.

Huawei Slim 7? Or cheaper options?
Or the Colpad?
Colpad doesn't fit the bill as it does not have a capacitive screen.

Back to the shower scenario - to give some insight as to what I wanna do.

1. Throw the tablet in a WaterProof case.
Mount it on a stand, outside the shower doors/panels, on a swivel stand I'd build and install.
But within reach of me, as I'm a tall oke and be able to reach over.
So it'll be out of the splash zone.

2. Mount 2/3 speakers in the upper corners of the bathroom and a sub on the floor under the basin.
Wiring will be kept nice and tidy and power will be routed through the roof to my room.

So the idea is to stream music from a PC or Android handset to the tablet.
Or even just load music on an SD card or the tablets own built in memory.
The idea for streaming is simply just to see if I can get it done - I realize its simple to most - just that I never have and would like to play around with it.

Plausible? Ideas?

1st thing I can think of is Capacitive not gonna work so well when you cover it for water proofing.

It might be a better idea to go resistive?

Edit: dam its a pity we the Element is an AT&T exclusive, as it probably would have been perfect for you http://www.laptopmag.com/review/tablets/pantech-element.aspx#review

The Pantech Element is IP57 rated, which means that the tablet is protected against dust and water. Thanks to the port covers, Pantech claims that the Element can survive being submerged in 1 meter (3.28 feet) of water for 30 minutes.

During our testing, we were able to pour water directly over the ports with no ill effect. We then placed the Element in a pan and poured water over it while it was powered on. We left it submerged for about 10 minutes. While the touchscreen isn't operable while the tablet is underwater, we saw that the vibrant display was still going strong.

After taking the Element out of the water, wiping off the excess liquid and quickly turning the lockscreen on and off, the tablet worked like nothing had happened.

Mmm yeah - get what you're on about with the resistive screen perhaps being more viable...

Or just wire speakers to your bathroom from your PC, media centre or whatever, hit the play button and go shower?

The slim will do all that you need and not even break a sweat, but where are you going to find a waterproof case for it?

5000w monoblock amp, 2000w 4 channel amp, 2 x 15" 2000w DVC StarSound Subs and Inifinity Mids and Splits?
That I sold with my previous car.
I like big sound, but wouldn't go out of my way for a rig like that again.

I was not clear in the OP wrt to speakers - I'm just gonna be using a spare set of 5.1 computer speakers I have laying around the house.

http://drycase.com/ is a starting point - but I'm almost sure I read something about a new design of waterproof case design...
