I recall something on MyBB ... can someone give me a model number?
It's under R100.00 IIRC?

nokia 1618 from CNA for R90.00, it has 2 weeks standby time torch etc. Great for making cheap cell c 99cent calls.

Go and have a look in Pep Stores too. That Nokia from CNA works very well and is a robust phone. Wife went to renew her MTN contract and found out that if she kept her existing phone, she could have the R 120 a month contract for R 65. If she wanted a new phone then it would be R120. So she keeps the existing phone, which is only 2 years old

the Nokia's are very reliable. brought one around 3 years ago for R70. battery lasts forever and silly cheap .

Huawei G1000 plus for R59 at Game.
Was looking for an LED torch with a built in cell phone so went for this.

Anyone know which is the cheapest phone with a QWERTY keyboard? I'm a bit mentally challenged (doff) when typing on a cellphone's keypad.

Sorry, I meant basic phone. Had a look at an LG for R499 at Pep. Ringtone so soft that when it was in my pocket, could not hear anything. Also speech volume not as good as el-cheapo Nokia.

Thanks, MickeyD. I will go and have a look at it. Have at the moment a Vodafone ZTE546 and although it looks nice, performance is a bit dodgy, not even as good as the LG for R499. I suppose you get what you pay for.
