Depends if you want a hard-capped low usage packae or not. Then you can get i-go from R399 with modem, but thats only 200mb or so.

Otherwise the 1gig package above is the cheapest

i-Go includes a UT-C (laptop Modem) not a UT-D (Desktop USB/Eth Modem) and comes with a 512 MB cap ;)

Quite right, you can just buy the UTD at a "discounted" price of R2500 with I-go. However the lowest cap offering on i-Go is 210mb.

Well I dont think many sane people are interested in i-Go with 512mb hardcap anyway.

i-Go Lite - 210MB - R195...no UT
i-Go - 512MB - R299.....no UT

but yes I don't market those as customer's would probably freak....lol

Gig 1 a good start.....

Ekhaatvensters or anyone else with a view,

Which packages offer best value for money?

Ekhaatvensters, why would you say the i-go 512mb would be a bad choice?

Or does value for money all come down to how much you use and whether you buy the modem or lease it?

Assuming you bought the modem then which should i choose, assuming I want 1gb data usage a month?

1. From looking at the packages having the i-go + buying an extra 512 mb per month is R438

2. Its cheaper than having the 1gb pack which is R469 (however you dont get a hard cap)

3. Even more interestingly is the i-go lite + extra 1gb data is R424, that's cheaper than the other two!

I'm lost on the logic of the pricing. Any suggestions?

Ok let me break this down.......the safest package to start off with is Gig 1.....yes it's R469 but if you take into account you still online after you completely use it up. It's better than being forced to purchase additional bandwidth, overall most customers take iBurst Gig 3.

At the end of the day it's what you want....that's the beauty about Month 2 Month contracts you can gauge and then after a cost analysis or trend analysis decide on the best package! So if you wanted to start i-Go Lite....and then upgrade to i-Go.or upgrade to one of the 'soft-cap' packages it's your choice.....that' one of the things that sets this product apart from the rest it's flexible! ;)

and here you are price amendments just for you Piesang lol. all incl VAT.

Discounts can be arranged! :D

UTD R2190
UTC & UTU *new* R1820

UTU is the new USB Modem

Antenna and Devices can be bundled and also purchased at discount rates!

Activation fee lifted and is no more! ;)

This is effective immediately

i-Go Lite now has a 24 month contract option for both UTD and UTC.

i-Go is now available on a 24 month contract on the witha UTD not just UTC anymore.

So if you definately only want to use 1gig (well its 1gig + 210mb in this case) then option 3 which you pointed out is perfect for you. Its a bit cheaper so you save.

But this is only if you are shure that you wouldn't ever want to go much over that limit, otherwise you would be forced to buy extra bandwith in 512MB denominations.

It is strange that this is the cheapest of the lot, but remember that on the standard 1 GIG package, you pay for the fact that you have unlimited (hopefully) access at 64kb once you use up your cap limit. Very few people would buy extra bandwidth with a package like this, while they would use up much more bandwidth the whole month. Iburst love the smaller hardcapped packages as they force people to use a certain amount of cap or buy more at very high prices.

Hi,
I think you've convinced me to move to the 1gig package. I like streaming alot of radio from abroad. So it would be a great idea and value for money for me to be able to do this without buying 500mb once I've nailed my allowance (which is normally a few days b4 the end of the month).

Are there any restictions on the 64kbps service once it kicks in, that I would not normally experience on the full speed service?

Thanks for all the info.

The 64kb service is infact comletley unshaped. The thing is that you are normally shaped to 64kb on 1024kb speeds, but once capped everything just works at 64kb as far as i can see.

If you want to stream etc. definately go for the 1G account, even once capped streaming should be okay and the speed often bursts over 64kb when you're capped.

Personally, when I'm uncapped I cant really use DC++, or at terrible speeds (2-3kb), but when Im uncapped it downloads at 6-8kb (jumps to 12kb occasionally)... pretty weird
