Cheapest Landscaping for 200m2 yard

Need some guidance people.

Moved into new place about 2 months and did mostly work inside, but i need some cheaper alternatives for landscaping the back yard. I'm not familiar with pricing nowadays, but open to any ideas atm. There is no cash to put in a new pool, so i will be putting in a above ground pool for the summer days coming up.

What is cheap and easy to maintain, i.e. grass, false grass, slabs, concrete, paving, pebbles, slabs. etc.

Any recommendations and pics will help.

I do have a small piece that was cemented against the back of the house with a step or 2. Was looking to maybe deck it out about since the base is already in place.
 
Cheapest will be to use native plants.
Succulents etc.

I like to have some borders with stones and succulents and other local plants there. you can also dig a pond relatively cheaply. Basically just 2 workers for a couple of days, some bricks and cement and the black pond paint.

Why not look for things you like on the internet and go from there?

For a small garden, you want a shaded area, somewhere to sit, and if you have kids somewhere for them to scream away from you.

A wendy at the far side of the garden they can play in around. A jungle gym are also good to have.

Outdoor seating, braai area are also things to think about. eg

Have a look at /nolawns on Reddit. Paving will be around R60 000,00 for that area.
 
Fake lawn can look really nice when used appropriately. Have it in two spots at my place and it holds up really well.

Just not an option if you have dogs.

I dunno, the stuff I have looks really convincing until you get really close up and just gives the area a much more welcoming look over just paving everywhere. I have it combined with a mix of paving stones and brick pavers.
 
As it's presumably not just a desert wasteland there's probably some grass, just get it growing nicely and build out from there.

Spray selective weed killer, couple cubes of lawn dressing, 40kg or so of guano fertiliser and water. Can push the boat out and over seed as well if you want.

Could probably get away with R7500

Can then add in paving, decks etc as funds are available without having a gross garden the whole time.
