Heya,

I have to download a large file for work from my works FTP (locally hosted). The file is 5gigs. I'm specifically looking for an account on the SAIX backbone.

Who would you guys recommend? I would have gone with the Telkom 1gig (with 10gigs local) account but they dont have an instant signup feature and their sales helpdesk is closed on weekends. I just want to click "order" and then pay, and then connect. I dont have time to wait for a sales rep to contact me on monday. Need it ASAP...

Any other ISP's out there that sell saix local b/w at a reasonable price?

Man, I've searched everywhere. Does no one resell saix local b/w anymore?

If you're downloading from FTP then IS is way cheaper and just as fast.

It will accomplish the same thing for you and run just as fast.

Yup, I completely understand. However I want a Saix account as I would like to use it for newservers once I've downloaded the work files. The IS accounts (currently have a plugg account) cant seem to connect to anything but the IS news server, and the IS newserver is utter crap compared to the Saix news server.

As much as I understand how I should just go for an IS account, I simply dont want one. I'm asking if any ISP's sell Saix local only accounts, not IS local only accounts?

e-mail the ceo at OpenWeb and ask him if he can hook you up with a custom account on the SAIX backbone. Or PM him here on the forum .... MrBEEP

He is never far from his e-mail.

Axxess does this SAIX prepaid as well. R100 more expensive than is.

Axxess R19 per Gb (Int and Local uncapped, I'm sure they have a LOCAL only option as well)
