Cheapest Mac

I'd be careful about advising people to go hackintosh. The fantastic thing about Macs is that they just work out of the box. This is achieved by tailoring the software for very specific hardware. Change the software and they don't always play so nicely together. I've got nothing against people with the rights skills building their own hackintosh but unless you know what you're getting yourself into I think it's best to stick to the real thing.

+1

OK sorry I haven't posted for a while. @Pooky, what's your hardware? It's critical for hackintosh of course. Especially the motherboard. @Phiber, I have seen OS X on AMD yes.

I agree with everyone, the iMac is a fantastic computer, the screen is awesome. Get one if you can. Photoshop is so expensive you might as well get a great machine to run it on. I can't afford one, so ya.

I have a Gigabyte G965 motherboard, Intel C2D E6300, XFX Geforce 7900GTX.
I REALLY want to get it going, but those installs don't work...

The 7900GTX 512mb is a little tricky. Do you have uncapped internet? I recommend downloading Hazard 10.6.2 or iDeneb 10.5.8. Otherwise just PM me your address & I'll post you the DVDs

I don't think hackintosh will be better than the Windows option...(debatable?)...
also, macMini is almost the same price as iMac unless you already have a good monitor to do your designs on. The macOS experience is awesome, but if you can't afford it yet rather get a Windows machine but if you can pull together the cents, you will not regret it (aspeacially the iMacs that is out now). BUT DONT make your choice solely on what you read here. Almost all Apple users have been brainwashed (including me and i hate it). :P

Brainwashed? How? Well, before that 4th gen iPhone was "misplaced" we all had no idea what it looked like or what features it would have but my mind was already made up that it would definitely be my new phone!!! :D
Maybe we just so confident in Apple's products that we know for certain they will wow us with their new products :)
