Cheapest mobile phones in SA

Keep one of these in the glove compartment with a sim adapter.
Batteries last forever and they pick up signal a lot better.
It could come in handy in certain situations.
 
Our tea lady's daughter used to work at spar as a cashier and lives in a flat in Silverton. At the time she had a Galaxy S4/5 contract at R450+ a month, barely out of school. My guess would be that even the poorest teenager wont be caught dead with a sub R1000 phone, even less alone something like a kicka (I had a huawei Y300 for a while and didn't mind though). The cheap phones mostly get bought by older people. On a side note, if I look at a different supplier, one I don't like buying from I can import a Doogee X5 at R950 incl DHL delivery, which is not bad at all. So in this case the question would become, would you rather buy a cheap to ok phone locally or import one from overseas which is better spec and performance wise at more or less the same price? Difficult choice to make per customer.

Well you are quoting the specs for the Steppa 1 so yeah those specs looks bad. The MTN Blog post is wrong. Here is the specs for the device.

The Steppa 2 has a 1.4GHz Quad core Snapdragon 410

Might be. I own a Steppa 2 and it's a great phone BUT the 512mb RAM is getting on my nerve. I would suggest getting a phone that has at least 1GB RAM if you can.

Always spend a bit more if you can. In the end the extra Rand is worth what you get.

Really? So something with a bit extra ram is worth it in the long run?

I got a galaxy pocket right now, think this innjoo fire is a good deal?
