Cheapest MXIT phone

I think almost any mobile phone will have GPRS / J2ME capabilities by now, even the lowest of end ones on the market.

The Samsung e250 is around R700 which is compatible with mxit. I think the majority of the entry level Samsung phones are around R1000

ok my mistake. I think i've like totally missed out on all the cheap phones. I was browsing an MTN booklet earlier on and i see there's a Samsung M140 with java(i take it mxit should work on there) for only R449

What ever you do make sure mxit works on it. I upgraded my contract last year got a sony ericsson W302. . . You'd thing a new phone like that mxit would work. Wrong. Became a nightmare. Had to buy a K850i to have mxit again. The samsung E250 is only 800bucks and i know for sure mxit works on it.

When buying a new phone make sure the phone has at least 500kb+ HEAP (dynamic memory) available for any application to function properly. Like GayTechie pointed out, the W302, this phone has a very small amount of HEAP and is causing a lot of problems.

Get an old Sony Ericsson, they work the best!!!
