Cheapest once off Data Bundles - over 80GB?

Hi guys :)

Do you know which cellphone network provides the cheapest, large, once off bundles?

I've only got Telkom sim cards and I can't seem to find anything than the normal bundle costs.
Google isn't helping either. I find dodgy sites and FB type scams.

Telkom for me is the cheapest. 80+80 for R559

Gets cheaper on higher bundles and they last 61 days.

I've got a monthly Telkom package with that allocation as well.

I will need to pay around R750 for a 120GB once off bundle.

It's damn expensive, especially since I only want to download a large installation.

Then get a Rain SIM if you have coverage. You can activate it at the start of the month and deactivate the uncapped in the same month. So R250.

Can I activate the sim on uncapped again?

How does this off peak package work?
I'm a bit confused.

Is it uncapped from 23:00 to 18:00 each day?

Can you block peak usage completely?

Yes you can easily re- and de-activate the card on a monthly basis, a bit harder on 24/7 but we'll ignore that for now. Also yes for 19 hours a day, between those times, it's completely uncapped, and you can theoretically set the peak usage to 0 but do be aware that some people have had hiccups with that in the past so it'd be best to just disable mobile data before 18:00 by hand or by any other means.

Yes. Mine is set to zero between peak. You can change between uncapped etc. anytime. Bear in mind your cancellation of the uncapped will only happen at the end of the billing month.

I'll test it first. I've got a good connection currently which is not that expensive.

So the RAIN card will just be a backup connection if it works (for large downloads etc.)

RAIN 4G simply have oversubscribed. Unless they have more spectrum or put up more towers.

When I had my sim delivered 2 months back after a 1.5 year haitus, I went to collect my sim outside the gate and the RAM guy opened the back of the van. There were over 20 RAIN sim cards lying there at the back. Go figure.
