I've just done an exercise with PostmanPot and I beleive we've come up with a good box. U can even make it cheaper but here is the basic idea.

I didnt need RAM, as i have some DD2800's, u can further reduce the price by getting a cheaper graphics card and CPU

R1800 from zones, can be done even cheaper with a a Intel Atom box, about R1k or so without HD.
