Cheapest way to receive sms's while roaming - MTN

Hi all im currently on MTN superflex, but will be emigrating in August, for some banking and and investment websites i can only get SMS OTP's

On previous travels roaming did not work at all, and the guys at the MTN shop just said they are not sure why its not working. I want to go over to prepaid and just receive sms's

Anyone every done something similar?
