Hi guys,

I need to get a new case but unfortunately my budget's only about R400 :(. So far I'm looking at getting this.

I'm basically looking for any opinions on the case and other case recommendations.

Thanks :)

I know this is above your budget, but I will never again buy anything smaller than the Antec 300

BTW, what do you use this pc for? If it is for normal office use, then that case is fine.

I got the Coolermaster RC-310-BWN1, Elite 310, Blue, No PSU, With Window @ R375 for my office PC. I'm quite happy with it, except for it's front panel audio socket that is too holding on too tight on the 3.5mm jacks.

If you want to install a big graphics card, then you should rather go for the RC 370 like you had in the original post.

I think the RC 370 is about the best that you can do for your budget.

I'll mainly use it for medium gaming, that Antec would be awesome but I don't have a high budget for the machine so I don't want to get an expensive case and then skimp on the other components.

Keep in mind, the case is always last on the list when upgrading... It's easier to add more ram next month than replacing the case...

is it for gaming , home pc , office pc or what >?

Agree with the Coolermaster Elite 334 - great inexpensive case.

uhm...

My friend got a gigabyte case, an X1 or something, and hes happy with it. Decent build quality with tool free installation.

I wud agree with some of the responses. I originally bought myself a Gigabyte Setto case. I have only had it for a year. And now I am seriously running out of space. I wanted to upgrade my graphics card and this case cant accommodate it (at least not comfortably). My suggestion to you would be to rather spend a bit more and get a bigger case that can last you at least 2-3 years.

Stuff like RAM, GPU's, HDD will be upgraded often (or at least in my case I go through these quite quick). Maybe buy a cheaper HDD for now and get a better case and then when you ready and have the money you can get a bigger, better HDD.

There is only one case - and that is CoolerMaster.

See if you can get an entry level one somewhere, most dealers sell them. I've got the CM 690 and it's simply the best case I've ever owned.

Here is mine : http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=2908

*My brother is still using my previous CoolerMaster case, that I bought in England in 2001, today.

My advice to you is to rather save up a few more bucks and buy a proper case, which can last you a few years.

There's a saying in Afrikaans "goedkoop koop is duur koop", which translates to : stay away from the cheap stuff, cos it might cost you double in the long run. :D

I found out that if you buy a cheap case you do not always get the fans included so rather go for a more expensive case and you will get all fans included like my cooler master sniper case. A bit expensive but you get almost all the fans included. only fan not included is the bottom fan but yet again you get 3 x 200mm fans included.

BTW I paid R1500 for the case. go for this case

Ya, I would love to get a better case (specifically the Antec 300) but unfortunately I literally can't spend over R400 :(.

I think what I'll do is get an Elite 334 and spray paint the interior black (as long as it's not too expensive). I've read a few guides - specifically this one on PCFormat and it doesn't look too hard.

First though I want to know from anyone who's sprayed there case how difficult it is for a beginner and how clear it turns out.

It's not difficult at all, but I'd recommend some practice..

Get the CM690 RC2 .. If you are going to buy a case, go big or go home. A case will last a long ass time. No point in buying cheap crap. I still have my TT Tsunami Dream (which I bought around 2003 IIRC) that I am respraying, once it's done I'll be using it for a torrent box..

I originally sprayed it green last year and now I'm going black and white. One word of advice, spray in a clean room if possible. The bits of dust sticks to the paint and you have to flatte and respray over it.

*edit*

Just read the guide you posted, seems decent. I wouldn't spray clear coat over primer though.. What I did was do 3 coats of primer and 4 coats of color, then 3 coats of clear laquer. I'll make a thread eventually when it's done.

Ok, after having another look at the cases I think I'll rather save the extra money and get the Antec 300. I'll just have to use an old el cheapo case for a while.

Thanks for the replies guys :)
