Check this nice towbar

Its a bit banged up but I believe that was the standard towbar? Or at least very common.
 
standard toyota towbar and exhaust for that generation corolla .the towbar bolted onto two loops that came out of the chassis .if that was a first generation twincam they were little rockets very quick little cars

Yep. They never died. Me and a friend toured the Old Eastern Transvaal in one with a boot full of booze.
