Check your VAT

Following the article in the Saturday Star about the City Power ripping people off with VAT charges, I decided to check my accounts.

I went back to July and in the 5 months they managed to get the VAT calculation wrong 3 times.

I urge all of you that receive bills from City Power to check your accounts.
 
I discovered this problem on my November statement last Wednesday and thought it was just me. I sent off a polite (no sarcasm here) e-mail to the JoburgConnect e-mail asking them to explain how they calculated the VAT as I couldn't reach the same conclusion.

As of now, I'm still waiting for them to respond.

When I saw the news in the Saturday Star, I went back to check my older statements but they were all fine. Funny enough, the error for November only happened because they had to do some sort of "correction".
