Checking credit health

This. I've never seen any of my queries on my report as well.

Just because you've never seem them, does not mean they are not there. Usually providers offering the service of checking your own score may not record it as a check. If you go to a bank or another institute you will see the impression.

Just curious about this as most insurance providers also run credit checks now of late. Heaven knows why. I take it this increases your chances of being seen as a high risk customer.

I'm not sure what insurance company does that, they have never done it with me.

Telesure group (Dial Direct, Auto and General etc) and Outsurance do credit checks at application stage. Some other may do as well.

Many of the others do checks at claim stage to assist in picking up claims fraud. A person in deep financial k*k is more likely to submit a fraudulent claim than somebody who's not.
