When I try to check my balance through the Services menu I keep getting time outs. I'm also unable to check it via *147#.

Any suggestions?

Contract.

I've managed to check it now via texting 'bal' to 14302 but it still puzzles me as to why the normal balance checking feature doesn't graft.

Thanks for your quick response again though ginggs :)

The *101# USSD code is for pre-paid only.

How do I check the data balance on my Cell C 3 G bundle?

Hey guys, any idea how I can check my data balance on the Cell C 3G modem? It has a button for balance inquiry, but never gets a response when I click it...am I missing something?

Cheers

Pre-paid or contract?

If you're using the Cell C software (which is in fact Huawei Mobile Partner 16), clicking the Balance button under Services certainly works for me (using the prepaid 2GB bundle). You could also enter the USSD command *101# in ginggs' excellent freebie app MDMA, hit Send and the balance will be returned.

sms bal to 14302 worked for me, sending sms from CellC app. Thanks guys, but don't data get carried over if you don;t use it all? Sorrry, new to the CellC 3G thing.

Cheers

I know on pre-paid there's no carry over, don't know about contract.

how to read cell c data balance sms

hi people can any one tell me how much data i have left? (i dont know if the is in byte, kb, mb or gb please help)
free GPRS: 1975397

Free GPRS:

Free GPRS: 2389839

Just got this usage SMS, what does this mean? Is this the data I have left? Or an MTN-like 495% incorrect estimate of my remaining data?

PS: Im on contract. 5 gigs.

I wouldn't trust that sms If I were you, unless you prepared to sell your car to pay for the 'FREE' GPRS in OOB rates come month end.

Everytime I do a data check on the control panel, the GPRS data does go down, so I assume this is accurate. They cant give you incorrect data usage figures surely?
