Any Checkpoint admins on this site - im looking for local guys that can throw ideas, questions and answers around ?

yeah i am certified and have a fair bit of experience on CP.
What you need?

CPUG is also a good place to get info

thanks for the responses - looks like CP is a niche area in SA.
Im busy studying for my CCMA - have used CPshared and CPUG as well as the Checkpoint website, but still find the level of detail of whats required in the CCMA written and practical exam to be lacking.
Besides the expected (SPLAT, R75, Mobile Blade, Eventia, etc) would the exam also include IPSO debugging and changes, Safe@office devices, VSX, IAS type work ?
From what i read its a test on everything Checkpoint have in the marketplace.
Any thoughts ?

Firstly, I think the CCMA is a bit of a waste of time. If you have a ccse+ then thats as far as you need I think. I actually dont know a CCMA, so I cant assist with the exam or details. CPUG is still your best option for that.
I would expect VSX to be in there, as for IPSO debugging, i doubt it. But you should already have the work experience which includes that anyway.

Why are you going after the CCMA? As a nice to have? I am fairly certain I know the top checkpoint resources in SA, none of em have the CCMA. I dont think they are pursuing it either. If you get it it would be pretty cool, but I doubt it will be as beneficial as the cisco equivelant.
