Also its the other way around - they're not trying to read microchips in people - your stomach will prob destroy it chop-chop anyway.

They doing it so that they can check stores and when they see "authentic" on something they can check it and see if it actually is by scanning the chips. The only reason they're edible is because they don't want to add "please scrape all of this off the cheese before you eat it" on a very expensive piece of authentic cheese
