gathiya i see is the correct google term
Looks nothing like gathiya. That "chevra" must be the poor man's version![]()

we always buy sev and nuts from victory lounge and kara nichas
i think victory lounge closed down though
Yeesh what childhood memories. Was this the Victory Lounge in Grey Street Dbn?
If it was, wow you are really bringing back childhood memories for me.
My folks always brought back a packet sev and nuts and boondi. And those long oily donuts with the cream in the middle, after they went to "town"
Wow those donuts and a cup of tea![]()

When ever we went to durbs the toppie knew my favourite was potato bhajias from victory lounge. First stop on a Saturday morning - then they could shop grey street in peace![]()
There's a balli that sells this stuff at the fordsburg street market off Mint str on Saturdays. The best I've had and I'm talking even better than I can remember from Vic lounge and so forth, back in the day.
My fiance tried to give me slangetjies the other night, I looked at the packet and saw it was some bbq flavour and there were no nuts anywhere.I refused to eat it, told her to go buy the correct stuff next time! And none of these simba chip flavours ,just chilli powder!
