Hi I drive a chev utility 2012 model and somehow the gear selector got stuck. I need advice of a reputable used spare shop that will have this selector please. Reeds is abit out of my budget as it could cost up too 10K for a new one. I would also love to know. Can my one be refurbished?

How is it stuck? are you talking about the linkages?
Well i get all gears at times, but then I don’t get 2nd and it won’t shift into the gears at times. It gets stuck at the selector from time to time. I’m just scared it’s going to get worse then I’ll sit with a break down

I am trying to understand this 'stuck' you are talking about, is it like stuck as in needing a four pound hammer to get the lever unstuck or does it simply mean the lever does not want to engage a gear?

At the time where you can't get 2nd gear can you get 4th as well as other gears? I don't know if you utility has the cable linkages as my Corsa. On mine you have two cable linkages one controlling the 2nd and 4th gears while the other controls 1, 3 and 5. What usually happens is that the plastic brackets holding the cables in place to maintain the tension needed to facilitate gear changes breaks resulting in a gear lever that can't select a gear and stay in. On mine it's the one that control 2 and 4 that broke.

If the problem is at the lever itself maybe remove the gaiter and see what is wrong? You are hoingbto be scammed if you don't know what exactly is wrong with the gear mechanism.

The Champ that’s the one. The lever itself needs to be replaced and like you know that’s the one that comes with the button on the lever you 1st need to press in for reverse. Like you say I’m scared I’m going to get scammed and i need the entire unit with those hydrolic cables aswell.

You can check Goldwagen and buy the parts and get some to replace the assembly for you.

Will definitely go and check them out. Thanks again for your time.
