Could some one please help with info on a Chevy elderly toro?
Recently got it from a friend but can't find any info on the car anywhere:confused:

You talking about this? From the early to late 70's.

I will see if I can take a pic of the old girl tomorrow. Think she is from the 1970.... I think:crylaugh:

That model is quite rare now. It was a chassis cab and separate load bed. The El Cammino was the popular one. The cabs were pretty much the same and the doors and windscreen can be interchanged so I'll assume the El Toro's where broken up for spares to keep cammino's on the road. The 4.1 engine was used in almost every Chevy model range of the time and is a pretty bullet proof power plant, thirsty though. There is plenty of info floating around for that engine. My dad's uncle still owns a 4100 sedan they pretty tough and engine parts are still available through aftermarket engine parts suppliers.

Oh yes she is extremely thirsty. Hubby wants to change the engine. Talking bout the v8

If I remember correctly, the Chevrolet El Toro was a rebadged Holden HQ One Tonner. What information do you need exactly?

Hubby wants to rebuild it. Im not sure what exactly he is looking for. But there is no info anywhere on it.
Yes it is a 1ton. I'm not sure what a holden HQ is......
Gonna try get a pic. I'm still new to this forum thingy

Holden HQ was a range of vehicles built in Australia in the 1970's. When exported, they were often rebadged. The One Tonner was sold is South Africa as a Chevrolet El Toro(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_HQ).
You should be able to find a workshop/repair manual for the Holden, which may be useful for a rebuild(eg. http://haynes.com.au/holden-hqa-hj-6-cyl-1971-76-gregorys-04146).
