After a 0-0 draw with Man United , Chiefs took the final 4-3 on penalties.

Seems like English teams in general should just try to avoid penalties at all costs! :(

Good for south african soccer.

But I thought the Man United side didnt bring in the guys who played in the 2006WC

Ok... lets see...

If ever in a penalty shootout with the brits... rest your goalie, they're bound to miss one.:D

Don't u just love darren fletcher. Fergie still thinks he's like ronaldinho...best in the world and never gives up playing him.

They are countrymen, must be the reason why.

Correct, it's Man United's Youth Team (probably their 3rd team) with a couple veterans like Giggs and Ole Gunnar Sols...(can't spell rest of name)

This is a blatant lie, can you tell me how many of the 1st team were missing and name them?

Well how about Rooney or Ronaldo - it is the kiddy team - many of the full team are resting after the WC. (Or how about van Nistelrooy?) - Or Solskjaer :D And to top it all Scholes is coming back after long injury.

Feel good propaganda.

Not that I watched this game - though I did see the last one (doubt Rooney was on the field?)

Chiefs are trying out my brothers friend for goalie. I think he might've signed by now, not sure..

In addition to Giggs, Manchester United are expected to field experienced players in defenders Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Kieran Richardson, midfielder Paul Scholes and striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will look to guide young talent such as fullback Phil Bardsley and midfielder David Jones through a tough 90 minutes of soccer action in the Mother City.

Compared to: http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={91EA3BE2-963A-4BAB-802C-F46A0EF3FCA3}&page=1

- Solskjaer is not 100%
- Ferdinand, Ronaldo, Howard, Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Park, Heinze, Evra & Smith arn't there.

Dude seriously. That was not even the B team that turned out for United in the Worthington Cup. Giggs and Scholes were 1st team. That was it.

For the record here is Man United's (arguably) strongest side from last season.

Van Der Saar

Gary Neville
Rio Ferdinand
Wes Brown
Mikael Silvestre/John O Shea

Cristiano Ronaldo
Paul Scholes
Alan Smith/Louis Saha
Ryan Giggs

Wayne Rooney
Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Players in bold came to SA. That does not look like a 1st team side to me.

Yes. Although I've never heard of him either, it says he's in the 1st team.
Patrice Evra. I dont fancy him much. He is new and he is not part of the 1st team yet, but he did play here in SA.

I don't deny that there were regulars missing but for Dominic to say it was a third team is grossly inaccurate and smacks of tabloid hacks, and he proved that by saying Evra was missing.
