Hi All

I have been trying to find a pharmacy/private clinic that offers state/government stock child vaccinations with not much success. I live in the Fourways area and my child is due for the 6 weeks vaccine. Have tried dischem fourways mall (private only), the link pharmacy at Leaping frog says i gotta buy the vaccines from the pharmacy and the Dr at the clinic will administer for R130 consult (take that as private also). No clicks in Fourways seems to have a clinic. Have tried San Ridge Clicks in Midrand and they say there isn't a sister available at the moment. They also mentioned they do not offer state issued vaccines.

Please help coz i dont want to pay for something that's free and dont want to take a knock on my msa on my med aid as it it still early in the year?

Regards,

I believe there is one behind the Michelangelo in Sandton. Don't know contact details.

There's also Witkoppen, but I'm not sure if they only take poor people. They do receive funding from the government as far as I know.

Main thing with these places is to get there when they open, or even a bit before. We used a government clinic and it was fairly quick if we were there early.

life fourways hospital, i was there last week, and the had government stock( shame, never heard my baby cry like that, it just breaks a dads heart!),

or else you can go to the gov clinic in petervale, down witkoppen , (fourways to rivonia direction) turn left on to cambridge, and as you go over the bridge, there is a clinic on the left

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am gona try the life hospital first as per ijacobs3. Is it the Mother & Baby clinic? Can you tell me if i need to make an appointment or just go there?

yeah i'm dreading the sight of my baby going thru it.

you will need to make an appointment,

if i recall , they only do vaccinations on certain days, but give them a call :)

i swear it hurt me more than my baby :( , they sit there with trust in their eyes, all happy, until the first injection happens, then, there is a sound, like i have never heard before, and the eyes look at you in disbelief, and as they start to calm down, BAM, the next needle goes in :( , it broke my heart :(

oh , be prepared to have a very grumpy / upset child for the next few days, as it does make them slightly sick / upset for a few days

Mediclinc charges R50 for vaccines, not sure about the ones in the JHB area though.
