China - Taiwan Developments

Well .............. Apple i phones are made in China - but China is also their biggest market

Which got me to thinking ............... I wonder if Nancy P has an iphone?
I don't think she sports a Huawei. I wouldn't be surprised if Billy G over from Sillicone Valley didn't have the contract. At least for work kit.

China would require weeks if not months of preparation for war with Taiwan.

Preparation that you can't hide from satellites and social media.

This is just some few vehicles doing a few drive arounds for propaganda and saber rattling.

Well well well... What have we here... The same way the USA provoked Russia, they are provoking China, it's the Taiwanese people who will die in case things escalate, just like in the Ukraine. It's what they do, stir up ****, watch the carnage from the safety of the white house, let US arms manufacturers coin it...

Agreed.

I also think its all show boating and hot air to get a point across

true enough if they don't follow through, it's early days still

but yeah, they're running the risk of wearing that label after all the bluster

Wait for them to call you a Chinese bot or Chinese propagandist.

Yeah, they will mock you an your wife, call you a simp or a troll and they are free to do so because nobody really does anything to stop them.

Defending tyrannical regimes like China isn't a good look.

Chas Freeman who served as a chief diplomat to china during the Nixon years on the situation.

The USA is desperately trying to hold onto its edge in chipmaking technologies. That is why they are essentially banning ASML from selling EUV equipment to the Chinese (talk about a tyrannical regime). TSMC is also a big issue in Taiwan and that is why they are trying to build new TSMC-like plants in Japan before China completely reintegrates Taiwan into China.

But China is catching up quick and have figured out how to produce their own EUV equipment to produce 7nm chips. Intel can't even do it properly yet, that is why they asked TSMC to make some of their chips.

China isn't making the provocative moves here, the US is. The average Taiwanese is happy with the status quo and the opposition party (the party of Chiang Kai Shek) actually wants closer relations with China.
Weird, this opinion poll says different...

The survey found that 88.6 per cent approved of the government seeking closer cooperation with other democracies in order to safeguard peace in the Taiwan Strait
