China - Taiwan Developments

Like the rest of us, they already know that the beta soy woke cult tiktok generation of the US is nothing like ukraine. It is, after all, their creation and run the algos to rot the west from within and have its weak minded citizens hate their own country, which has worked flawlessly... In a way, US has already been invaded and is losing badly, if came to boots on the ground, majority of 'fighting age' would melt like the beta soy snow flakes they are if called up to war... US has no chance against china unless they nuke nuke nuke
Doubtful, but OK...

I don't think this has been reported on?
During the meeting, Liu and Pelosi discussed the U.S.’s recently passed CHIPS and Science Act, according to Taiwanese media. The new legislation includes $52 billion to support chipmaking in the U.S., and TSMC will likely be among its beneficiaries as a result of the $12 billion chip factory it’s planning to build in Arizona.

Due to the silicon shortage the rest of the world will enjoy the extra fab time.
Whatever. It's a premeditated move to relocate chip manufacturing to the US. Very strategic.

As some mentioned here, the chips are the only thing that is currently protecting Taiwan from being involved in war as the entire world depends on them. Including the Chinese.

As for the US controlling the manufacturing..

These other chip manufacturing facilities can't built the latest gen chips, only Taiwan has the capability to do that with their industry trade secrets afaik.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrives in South Africa on Sunday, in what analysts say is an attempt to counter Chinese and Russian influence in the region.
Counter Chinese influence? Is he going to pay off the thousands of billions SA is in debt with China? I think he's a tad too late to counter anything.

So that is a very strange outlook on things when relocating chip manufacturing is a decade long endeavour (at least) costing 10s of billions of dollars, its not something you just do. Also TSMC has huge amounts of "edge" in that market and they won't just relocate to the states randomly, it would need to make economic sense for them to do so and be a huge repivot of the company entirely.

I don't believe it has to do with relocating, perhaps with later guarantees, but rather trading for the technical aspects behind it to support the US endeavour. Would be interesting to find out what kind of promises they are prepared to hand out.

Oh 100% I can buy that leverage will be pushed for to prioritise the US requirements and maybe allocations or something along those lines.

Once again. an anti USA site. When are you going to present a balanced view?
