The salaries are still higher, but most graduates actually go back after they get experience. Eventually they take the technology with them. The CEO of Microsoft and Google were both trained in India for example.

The idea that the west "leads" in science is no longer the case, sure America and the EU still does a lot, but there is more competition.

Another interesting factoid, Iran produces more women in engineering and science per capita than any EU country and publishes more scientific papers than Russia.

We are living through a brainshift to Asia.
